wt urban kitchen

Did you ever eat in an old water tower? No? Neither did we. But recently we had the pleasure to go out and have dinner at the WT urban kitchen in Utrecht. The restaurant is situated on both the ninth as the tenth floor and the view from there is simply stunning. We love a good rooftop terrace in Amsterdam, but this view is definitely one not to skip. If you’re going to eat here during winter, make sure to make reservations on the tenth floor to have the best view. On sunny days it is possible to have dinner at the terrace on the tenth floor but only if you made reservations on the ninth floor. A bit of a gamble but make it a sport to match the Dutch weather and dinner reservations at this restaurant because you will be rewarded. Check the pictures below!

OUR DINNER EXPERIENCE AT WT URBAN KITCHEN

Due to the insanely un-Dutch weather we started our dinner off a bit overheated. But as the hours went by, the temperature got more comfortable by the minute. We decided to have a gin and tonic to start with and this was a treat right away. This cocktail was made with Dutch gin, English tonic and a treat for the eye because of the combination with fresh flowers. At WT urban kitchen you can opt for the four, five or six course menu. We went for the four course one. Now we can exactly try to describe each and every dish like the wonderful staff of the restaurant did, but we simply can’t. We can name some beautiful ingredients in various dishes though. We loved the dish with sorrel, goat yoghurt, beetroot and veal. Also, we were blown away by the dish with peach, pickle, myoga and prime rib. The pre-dessert with crushed ice was a welcome treat because of the hot weather as well. Getting hungry? Go and make reservations!
