To experience a city is to discover the variety of its neighbourhoods. On the northside of the IJ lies the neighbourhood Amsterdam-Noord. Some call Noord the Brooklyn of Amsterdam and we kind of get it. The diversity is surprising, you should see it for yourself!
A special neighbourhood requires a special tour. This is why we developed a unique salon boat and bike tour, tailor-made for small groups with a maximum of eight people. During this tour you will feel like a local while you hop on your (rented) bike first, take the iconic salon boat second and end on your bike again. Enjoy the diversity of Amsterdam Noord where nature meets industry, history meets contemporary and street art explores the boundaries of creativity.
Your personal Amsterdam tour guide is a local Noord citizen: a true neighbourhood expert. He or she will guide you during the bike part of the tour. Feel free to ask anything you would like to know about Amsterdam culture or any other subject. The personal group tour will take you along beautiful city sights, amazing street art, creative places and much more.
Experience the neighbourhood from the water in a salon boat that used to be owned by the mayor to show his special guests in Amsterdam around. Sip on a cup of coffee or tea while taking a bite from a Dutch treat and let a local skipper tell you all about his experience sailing the Amsterdam waters.
The tour starts at the Buiksloterweg side of the Buiksloterweg ferry (you’ll find the ferry next to Amsterdam central station and the map below). Here you can rent a bike for you and your group, but best is to book it in advance. Read more about our bike renting tips here. The tour will end at the NDSM wharf, where you can easily spend a few more hours by yourself. Afterwards you just hop on the NDSM ferry back to Central station.
It is also possible to enjoy this tour with less than ten people, but the total price will remain the same. The spoken language during this tour will be either English or Dutch. If you have a questions regarding this tour, please let us know. If you’d like to do this tour with a large(r) group: CONTACT US.
