With temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius in the Netherlands, it’s time for some refreshments. What better way to refresh yourself with homemade lemonade made of Dutch in-season fruit? That’s right: nothing!
SUGAR-FREE STRAWBERRY LEMONADE
2 litres of water | 8 lemons | 250 gr of sliced strawberries | 1/2 tablespoon stevia
In a large bowl or pitcher combine water, lemon juice and stevia. Simply stir in sliced strawberries and serve over ice.
SPARKLING CHERRY LEMONADE
250 gr of cherries | lemon juice of 6 lemons | 75 gr of sugar | 1,5 litre of club soda | lemon slices and ice
Clean and unpit your cherries. Put them together in a blender with the lemon juice and sugar to create your own homemade syrup. Put some ice in a glass, add as much of your homemade syrup as you wish and combine this with the club soda. Add a slice of lemon for a colourful result.
ICED PEAR AND GINGER TEA
2 tea bags of your taste | 1 chunk of root ginger | 2 pears | ice cubes
Put the two tea bags in a pot together with boiling water and let it set for ten minutes. Scoop out the bags and let the tea cool. Peel and grate the ginger as finely as possible. Blend the pears until they’re all mushy and combine it with the tea and ginger. Serve with ice cubes to have the ultimate refreshing drink.
